Yeah, this place was a bit more "fun" back in the day. Not to say it's not good now, but the number and variety of participants back then really made it "the place to be". Unfettered by societal niceties, not held down by political correctness and more than happy to go days, even weeks, without mentioning the Dead (which did piss off some folks), helped make this place much more of a destination.

There were many excellent people who came here regularly and, despite the examples posted now, did actually come to the party with some excellent Dead-related thoughts and recommendations. Almost all of those have passed by the wayside, apparently finding better uses of their time (or the wife changed the passwords) and actually deciding to join society. Sad. Damn. Even robthewordsmith can usually hear a misused diacritic half way around the world...

I'm still not sure about the whole "joining society" thing.

Every time I look up, society still, by and large, sucks. I'll just cram my head back under the sand (again, calling out to Rob) and crank tunes.
